The 2011 Australasian Mortality Data Interest Group workshop will be held in Brisbane Monday 31 October to Tuesday 1 November 2011.

We are pleased to invite delegates to attend our 2-day program prior to attending the 10th National Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion.  In 2011 the workshop will be hosted by the National Centre for Health Information Research and Training, the Queensland University of Technology and the Queensland Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.

The 2011 workshop will bring together leading professionals from Australia, New Zealand and other countries for two days of discussion and networking about current  issues surrounding mortality data with, particular emphasis on the Australasian region.

Based around the broad theme of “Mortality Research Supporting Policy and Practice” the workshop aims to:
•    Present a selection of the latest research findings associated with mortality data > Provide insight into child death review processes
•    Highlight advances in data methods
•    Identify international developments in mortality data systems
•    Provide a forum for mortality data professionals and researchers to exchange information and forge constructive partnerships

The Australasian Mortality Data Interest Group (AMDIG) annual workshops have been increasingly popular events for researchers, epidemiologists, statisticians and collectors and processors of mortality data since their inception in 2002. Hosted by the National Centre for Health Information Research and Training, the Queensland University of Technology and the Queensland Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian, the 2011 workshop will again bring together leading professionals for two days of discussion and networking about current issues surrounding mortality data.
