Scientific Sessions

The scientific sessions will cover recent advances and current problems in aerospace medicine and related sciences.  The working sessions will comprise didactic and current interest lectures by recognised experts, panel discussions, oral and poster presentations.  The theme of the Congress is: “Pushing the Envelope of Aerospace Medicine”.

The main proposed topics are:

• Aircrew:  clinical issues, fitness assessment, medical standards
• Air transport:  long duration flights, high capacity aircraft
• Air travel and exposure to disease
• Environmental hazards
• Human factors in aviation and flight safety:  accidents
• Aeromedical evacuation
• Man-systems interfaces, information processing, ergonomics
• Airports, air traffic control:  medical issues, occupational medicine.
• Research in aerospace physiology and psychology
• Recent advances in space biology and medicine.

The official language of the Congress will be English. No translation services will be provided.

The time allocated to each oral presentation will be 15 minutes.  The presentation is to occupy 10 minutes, followed by a 5 minute period for discussion. 

Posters will be displayed for the duration of the Congress, and authors will be required to be present at their posters at specified times to discuss their presentations.
