Drive through gold mining towns to find The Henley - a traditional links course designed by Tony Cashmore in consultation with Nicklaus Design. This course boasts the longest Par 4 hole in Australia - the 16th. A true test to golfing character and skill! Follow your 9 holes with a gorgeous lunch and experience a private barrel room tasting with the wine maker. Optional Excursion - DC3 Touring to the Twelve Apostles* - Thursday, 20 September 2012When: Thursday, 20 September 2012 Nothing evokes the majesty and glory of flight better than the DC3 nicknamed the “Gooney Bird”. Built in 1945 this is the lowest time DC3 in operation and has been superbly refitted to make your experience comfortable and exciting. Depart Essendon Airport and fly to the famous Great Ocean road at Anglesea. Cruise along this magnificent coastline as you wind your way towards The Otways - past Melbourne’s famous coastal retreats of Lorne and Apollo Bay. Before you know it you are over the Otways wilderness national park for your first lap of the Twelve Apostles by air, before landing at Warrnambool Airport. Your luxury coach will then take you on an informative, historical ground tour taking in great beach walks and sensational sightseeing of the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and Gibson’s Steps, with a delightful seafood lunch. Your DC3 awaits for your return flight back where you can enjoy icy cold beer, wine and soft drinks.
