½ Day Specifying Australian Green Roofs Workshop Workshop Rate - $250 Registration for the ½ Day Specifying Australian Green Roofs Workshop includes access to the Specifying Australian Green Roofs Workshop and Trade Show, half day catering and all handout materials. Places are limited; first in, first served. This workshop will enable participants to better understand design, substrate and planting options for green roofs in Australia. The first half of the workshop is based around green roof substrates (including issues of components and mixes, systems, sites, performance and testing) and plant materials (including plant types, traits, properties, water and irrigation, and planting options). The second half includes discussion on design options for green roofs, including case studies that focus on the challenges and pitfalls of green roofs using practical and research examples, and a hands-on design activity. Using seminars, interactive discussion and practical activities the workshop will be presented by the Green Roofs Research Team at the University of Melbourne including Dr. Nick Williams, Mr. John Rayner, Ms. Ruth Hughes, Dr. Claire Farrell, Dr. Liz Denman and Ms. Jenny McCoy. This workshop provides strategic and statutory planners with a methodology for increasing their understanding of the interactions between cities and their host environments and examines the ways in which town planning seeks to express and regulate these interactions. Please note that while it is possible to attend both the Substrate and Plant Workshop and the Policy Workshop, those registering for the GRA101 Workshop can not register for either of the other workshops.
