Burnley Campus is renowned for its environmental and ornamental horticultural educational programs. The Campus, set on 13 hectares of ornamental gardens just 7 kilometres from the CBD of Melbourne, has a long and esteemed history, celebrating its centenary in 1991. 

The Campus is able to provide specialist training in a wide range of areas such as urban landscape management, nursery and cut flower production, landscape design and construction, park management, turf management and arboriculture.

By Car
By road, the campus can be entered from Yarra Boulevard, if coming from the north,  or turn off Swan Street via F.R Smith Drive onto Boulevard.  Follow signs to ‘Burnley Sidings’.

Parking Options
While there is no parking on the Burnley Campus a number of other parking options are available:

  • Limited university parking behind the campus. There are spots available in the university carpark, but you need to get in before 8.30 to be able to find a place as they will fill up quickly. Directions to carpark:  Enter carpark via Botannica Drive, right hand turn off Swan St, heading away from city, follow road around until you get to back of university. The University buildings can be reached from a gate located next to the carpark.
  • Ample meter parking on the Yarra Boulevard (riverside), directly opposite the University (Meter parking $4-a day). Parking is accessed via F.R Smith Drive, onto Yarra Boulevard and follow signs to ‘Burnley Sidings’. 
  • 4 hour free parking along Yarra Boulevard (university side), directly next to University.

By Tram
From Flinders Street (city) along Exhibition St Extension on to Swan Street Route; No 70, stop 18. From Kew Junction; Route No. 75, stop 29. Along Riversdale Rd heading west; Route No 70 stop 18 and Route No. 75 stop 29.

By Train
The nearest train stations are Burnleyon  Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein or Glenwaverly lines (and then tram along Swan Street), or Heyington on the Glen Waverley line.

By Bike
Capital City Trail, bike parking available on campus.

The Green Roofs Australia 2009 gathering was a great success, with excellent displays produced by commercial sponsors, informative presentations on local and international green infrastructure projects, design, growing media and policy workshops and more than 150 delegates attending the various conference events over three days.
