Great Ideas in Nutrition

Amanda Clark is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian with over 20 years experience. She heads a team of dietitians and exercise physiologists at Great Ideas in Nutrition on the Gold Coast. Amanda’s keen interest lies in making dietary changes easier which has led to the development of Portion Perfection, an innovative visual weight control concept. Amanda is a regular contributor to health magazines and TV segments including Sunrise and The Morning Show. Amanda has won the DAA’s Innovation Award and the Baxter Healthcare Award for her ideas and today we hope to pick up some of those ideas on weight control.

William has been with Best Practice as Senior Technical Support Officer for 3 years and made the move to BP Trainer in July 2009. William brought to the Best Practice Support Team his previous experience with SQL databases which has greatly enhanced the team dynamics. Over the past 18 months, William has travelled extensively around Australia, presenting Best Practice to potential users and training staff in the best use of our software for their practice.

Michael has been involved in the Medical, Education and Health and Fitness industries for 15 years. During this time he has had many diverse roles. Michael was an Advanced Care Paramedic on the Gold Coast for several years where he gained valuable clinical experience and knowledge. As a pharmaceutical medical representative Michael facilitated and delivered CPR training courses to General Practitioners and other Allied Health Care Professionals.

Michael is also a registered teacher with Education Queensland where he continues to develop and refine his teaching and facilitation skills. In his current role as Director of Training, Michael utilises his clinical knowledge and teaching expertise to deliver First Aid and CPR training to a diverse audience ranging from primary school students to General Practitioners. Michael has played a key role in the development of the Training and Assessment materials which meet the National ARC guidelines.

Daniel Johnstone

Daniel Johnstone has been involved in the Medical industry for 11 years with 7 of that specialising in equipment. Daniel's role as Technical Manager is to provide back service and support for the Equipment Zone Medical distributes.

He also assisted NSW health in 2009 with educating their health inspectors on Australian Standards and what they should be looking for when auditing practices.

Marianna assists members of Avant through the provision of medico-legal advice, risk assessments and the development and implementation of risk management strategies. Marianna has worked within the medical industry for over 30 years. Her experience includes general and midwifery nursing, managing large medical practices, consulting to medical practices including general practice, varying medical specialties, universities, developing dispute systems, mediation services and lecturing in practice management.

She is a Fellow member of the Australian Association of Practice Management.

Jennifer Muller

Jennifer Muller is the Senior Director, Cancer Screening Services Branch, Queensland Health having worked in this field for over 20 years.  During this period she has developed a very extensive knowledge base and understanding of population screening in particular breast, bowel and cervical screening programs. 

Colleen Sullivan

Presenter and Assessor
UNE Partnerships

Colleen is a Presenter and Assessor with UNE Partnerships Professional Practice Management program, She has had a long term interest in Informed Financial Consent. A member of the Eclipse Reference Group has presented IFC workshops for practitioners, managers and staff of General Practices and Specialist Practices around Australia.
