9.00am - Virtualisation everywhere and anywhere?

Radek Tkaczyk, Senior Systems Consultant, VMvault

Radek Tkaczyk's session will be focused on virtualisation in the IT industry, what virtualisation is, and how it can be used. The session will show how virtualisation is helping companies get more out of their IT investment, and how virtulisation can better utilise the equipment they already have. He will also discuss the environmental impact of virtualisation and how this can lower a company's overall electricity and cooling requirements for their IT equipment, which helps lower greenhouse gas emissions. Radek will also demonstrate how virtualisation ties into cloud computing, give an online demo of accessing cloud computing resources and how this can be used to enable staff to work from anywhere - be it at the office, at home, or on the road.

10.00am - Putting it all together in the cloud?

Andrew McInally, Managing Director, EH Technology

Andrew McInally's session will aim to de-mystify "the Cloud" and provide simple examples and ideas of how everyday businesses can make use of what is actually a tried and proven technology. He will discuss some of the ways we currently use Cloud Services everyday and how your business may leverage these services to enable greater efficiency, piece of mind and return on investment. Andrew will discuss Australian case studies and demonstrate ways that real Australian companies are leveraging the Cloud.

11.00am - Morning Tea

11.20am - Securing the “anywhere” revolution

Matthew Thompson, Strategic Sales, GCOMM

Matt's session will be focused on current broadband technologies available in Australia today and potential future technologies. He will discuss current cloud computing connectivity models and the importance of a secure network in realising the greatest benefit from cloud computing and virtualisation. He will also touch on some recent case studies of successful organisations leveraging their network for greater productivity, services and lower total cost of ownership.

12.15pm - How green is my IT?

Hilton Travis, Managing Director, QuarkIT

Hilton Travis' session will summarise the virtualization, cloud and communications sessions and offer a look at some other avenues for cost savings and energy reduction when considering technology for your business including remote workers, desktop and mobile computers, peripherals and even the whole office itself.
