Keynote Speakers

Neil Bray

Neil Bray

Neil has recently been appointed as Queensland’s Valuer-General and commenced in this role in October 2010.  He has moved back to his home State after serving as South Australia’s Valuer-General for nearly 11 years.

Neil is a fellow of the Australian Property Institute and has represented Australasian Valuers-General on the Australian Valuation and Property Standards Board since 2000.

In March 2010, the Queensland Government announced a package of major reforms to the State’s statutory land valuation process.  The State Valuation Service has implemented many of the initiatives including the enactment of the Land Valuation Act 2010, introduction of the site value methodology for all non rural land and the simplified objections and appeals process which included extended periods for landowners to object to their valuation.

As Valuer-General, on 3 May 2011, over 1.6 million valuations were issued in accordance with the Land Valuation Act 2010 to all 58 rateable local governments, making it the largest revaluation ever conducted in Queensland.
